Salvador

Acai Hostel

I arrived at this hostel with two other friends in a cab. It is half an hour or so from the airport and I would have caught the bus had we arrived sooner as it would have been cheaper. The hostel itself is situated in the heart of the city amongst the restaurants, bars and churches. It is short walk to get to the square and the elevator to get to the old part of town.

We stayed in a eight bed dorm which was fairly large and spacious. Each bed has a huge locker at the bottom and each bed has an individual lamp and plenty of storage space for valuables. The hostel itself is safe, buzz in door service, monitored by cameras. The bathrooms are outside the dorm room but there are some on each floor.

The breakfast was good and the kitchen is also good should you wish to cook. The outdoor balcony is great, overlooking the city. There was also free caipirinhas on Tuesday nights after 6pm! The owner is very friendly and chilled guy. He took eight of us to a local bar and we shared stories and beer – was great fun!

The staff here are friendly and the wifi is also good. I loved my stay here and would defo recommend.
