Java

Chez Bon Hostel

We took the train from Jakarta and arrived in Bandung late afternoon. This hostel is not far from the city, located on a busy road, full of street art and coffee houses.

The hostel staff are friendly and very helpful. We wanted to visit both the factory outlets and see the volcano – they gave us advice and informed us roughly how much it would cost. Also gave us details of the train timetable for Yogyakarta.

The hostel itself is clean, well looked after, no bed bugs! The toilets are good – one on every floor, hot water showers! It is not a party hostel by any means but on the first night we heard some karaoke – not sure from which floor/building and there you hear the mosque, nice and early at 4:00am! But this is the case in most hostels and if you have ear plugs you can sleep through it no problem.

Breakfast is also included – toast and eggs, for me that was fine, for those who would like more, there are cafes near by where you can grab a bite to eat.

Overall this hostel is great for the average backpackers, the location is good, staff are great, it’s clean and a reasonable price – 120 rupiahs. The wifi connection is also good, works in the room! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it for sure!
