Kuala Lumpur

The Explorers Guesthouse

I landed in KL and took a taxi to this hostel, unfortunately it’s a little tricky to find. That said the location is very good- minutes from the central market, China town and main bus station. It is within walking distance of restaurants and supermarkets. It is on a main road and super safe, the door has a buzzer and the reception is manned twenty four seven.

This hostel itself is great, very clean and well maintained. It is rather large with three floors. There is a large communal area downstairs, a television and plenty of books you can borrow. It is also a great place to meet other backpackers. The staff are friendly and give lots of advice.

I stayed in a four bed dorm which was clean and there was plenty of space for luggage. There was also air conditioning, prefect for the hot weather! The bathroom is outside, large, clean and plenty of hot water.

There is wifi, yes it only works downstairs but that wasn’t a issue for me, good connection- what more could you want?

Breakfast is good- tea and toast again for me it was good but others may expect/want more. There is also a kitchen where guests can cook but with food so cheap I didn’t cook during my stay.

I loved my stay- first time in KL, great first impression, great energy and feel to this place, chilled out and good value. I would defo come again and recommend it!
